REACH - Click here for the Certificate of Compliance

REACH Certificate of Compliance is now available for almost all Kycon products. Click here for the part search list to download your certificate.

Kycon, Inc. is aware of the REACH regulation requirements and will continue to provide updates as more information is received.

Products that are imported to the EU must be registered if the substance in question is intentionally released under normal conditions of use and if the released substance is present in those articles is in quantities totalling over 1 metric ton per year. To the best of our knowledge, Kycon does not produce any articles that fall under these critieria.

Halogen Free

Recently, with an increase in interest in Halogen Free Components, Kycon has been evaluating the potential to comply with these customer requests. Currently, however, halogens are necessarily used as a flame retardant material contained in the plastic connetor housings and potentially cause higher risks when removed. Kycon is looking into the potential to provide different plastics, if and when they become available.

We will continue to update our website as more information becomes available.

Deca DBE

July 2008: Kycon has confirmed all product complies with the new restrictions of Deca BDE. Our Certificate of Compliance has been updated to reflect this.

China RoHS

On March 1, 2007 the first phase of the legislation that is governing product related environmental requirements went into effect. This phase covers marking and labeling of products and packaging materials.

Kycon is fully aware of the recent labeling law (SJ/T 11364-2006) signed into force by the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) of the Chinese government. This statute sets forth the requirements for labeling all Electronic Information Products (EIP) sold in China. Section 4 of the General Rules states that "for electronic information products purchased for use as components in production, it is fine for the supplier not to perform the marking on the provided product." Because Kycon is a supplier of components that are used in production we have no plans to provide labeling on products. Kycon will
give our best efforts to provide information, upon request, to assist customers with labeling requirements.
